I expect it will do fine. Over the past five years Ford's customer research has been spot on with the notable exception of the PowerShift, and I have a suspicion that their research there was overruled in a misguided rush to join hands with European ops and sing "It's a Small World"

Considering I haven't driven one, but it seems like it might have been released a bit too soon and didn't quite meet what the consumers where expecting (who the vast majority of had torque converters with automatics for driving) in a transmission.

Edited OP to include Ford, GM.

Looks like a big month for the Lambdas... They've got great deals locally: $45k Acadia Denali leasing for 26mos for $399/mo.

Don't the 2013 Lambdas receive a heavy mid-cycle facelift? Perhaps GM is clearing out the old models to make way for the new ones.

As for 2013 Escapes - the Ford dealer in the eastern suburbs had two, and both are gone now. The Ford dealer in the western suburbs had one, and it's still on the lot.

The 2013 Lambda refresh ranges from mild to decent... Traverse gets new bumpers, new sacrifice panel, restyled lamp assemblies, and a new interior, Enclave gets some interior and front end freshenings, as well as finally blacking out the D-pillar, and Acadia gets a new front end and the new Traverse's interior, as well as sheetmetal from the defunct Saturn Outlook.

I don't think they go into production until November, so it seems a little early to be having firesales.

However, locally we also have $159 leases on Traverse, so the deals are quite generous.

I still find that to be absolutely hilarious. GMC: Professional Grade Hand-Me-Downs.

I mean seriously. Imagine if a refreshed Lincoln MKS was launched using Montego sheet metal.

I think this was the big problem with the decision.

You can fault the execution of, for instance, the MFT, but the reasoning behind it is sound. The DCT, OTOH, seems to have been rationalized into production. Would not be surprised if the MCE of the Focus introduces a conventional automatic.

I dunno about that...I'd think the lost of a MPG or two would be huge to Ford...

Lets assume the big issues have been corrected, but what about training or explaining how the transmission works...just because it doesn't work the same as what your used to, doesn't mean its broke.

That result would probably be better than the hideous mass that is the current MKS.

I do not believe that fuel efficiency drove the adoption of the DCT.

Further, if you're explaining, you're losing. It is not in our best interests to be perpetually catered to, but that's how it is and that's what we expect.

Acadia doesn't bother me. I think it's one of the more handsome large CUVs out there and somewhat conservative in it's appearance in comparison to some of the other offerings out there.

You want cartoon?

I find all the Lambdas to be a hot mess at best and absolutely nasty at worst, yet they sell like they come with free BJs. Of course, I think the Flex looks dynamite and it, well, doesn't. The American market, folks, one could go insane trying to figure it out.

1300+ Interceptors versus 325 Caprices. Yep, that RWD is really making all the difference :hysterical2:

Anybody bothered that Ford had the least percentage increase? 7% seems weak compared to GM or Chrysler, par with Hyundai who've been on a streak of late.
I know, I know they are more concerned with per unit profit than absolute sales..............but......

Top-20 best seller charts for the month and the first half of the year:

http://www.examiner....st-half-of-2012

By the way, the VW news release posted earlier is for the wrong year. The Jetta didn't have an especially strong month -- 13k, which is quite good by VW's old standards but not what it's been up to more recently.
