RadarRunner
2008 CVPI cruise has been working find until yesterday, when I noticed that it did not disengage when I hit the brakes. Tried it several times & of course it slows the car down, but the cruise light stays on & when releasing the brake it surges forward with rapid acceleration back up to the set speed. The on/off button does work correctly. Is this something that can be reset by disconnecting the battery or something else, or is it a bad part/sensor??? StevenCaylor
A suggestion. Check your brake lights to see if they are working. It might be the contact in the brake pedal that's broken.
hee haw
A suggestion. Check your brake lights to see if they are working. It might be the contact in the brake pedal that's broken. Also check ALL of the brake and tail light functions. I have had a broken filament in a tail light part of the bulb cause crazy operations of cruise control. Also the brake light switch has 2 sets of contacts, 1 normally open that works the brake lights and 1 normally closed that opens to interupt the cruise function. If this or any other fix work fixes this keep us posted.
