Why work for the union if you don't like the rules? ANYONE with a day more time then you has more right to a Ford job then you. Get over it!

Anyone with a day more than me AT MY LOCATION has seniority on me. There is a very good chance that the majority of the workers coming in to MAP will be high seniority. When the 3 crew ends alot of employees who spent their career at local 900 will get bumped out. This is national seniority, pure and simple and it wasn't what the rules were when i started. If the 3 crew would last forever , i wouldn't care. But it could last only 6 months....a year..two years....who knows. There is a way to place all the employees who don"t have a home: BACKFILL ALL THE SLOTS LEFT FROM ATTRITION! The union is grabbing at straws and no one is safe.

No one. The Focus isn't selling for shit and the C-Max we're about to start building is electric and hybrid only. Yeah....Ford will sell DOZENS of them. We don't need 3 crew.

There are only 2 reasons for 3 crew: eliminate all overtime and to create space for laid off ford workers and workers in plants that may close (saline for one). I think it will last just long enough to place everyone and then they"ll pull the plug and low seniority original local 900 members will be screwed. Just my opinion. It might last for 6 yrs like it did at michigan truck....but i seriously doubt it.

Is there any local language addressing the C crew work practices at MAP or was there any at MTP? Here at CAP if a questions is put to the Chair, he keeps referring to traditional language that we have at present. Not the 3 crew work practices. Also states, the 3 crew will be run under the present language?

If the C crew is run like the last 2 years here at CAP then the company gets a free pass to do as they see fit.

How did things work out at MTP when the plug was pulled on their C crew?

According to the most recent posting, there is a need for 900 at MAP, that bid was only opened to trades working production ( 2007 seniority) and people working at sold plants(Saline, Milan). Most of those employees judging by what has come to DTP is 2000 seniority or lower.

Really what is the seniority like at MAP currently ? Last year; I have a friend that left there with 1995 seniority and he claimed to be in the bottom 50 of the plant, are you seriously telling me there is 2000 or lower sneiority employees there worried about getting sent to DTP or AAI if they add a C-Crew and eventually cut?

Come on man, get real and stop acting like chicken little.

Even if what you are claiming were to come around, would'nt you want your seniority to mean something before you burn up your SUB/TAP weeks?

Should I even mention the fact in accordance with the national agreement, people with higher seniority would have zone bump rights anyway and there is still a need for employees nationally?

Sorry if you have had the luxury of staying at your home plant for youre whole time with Ford and are scared, Most have not been that lucky!!!

Where exactly do you get your "facts"?

December Focus sales were UP 12%.......California sales UP 37%........For January Focus is UP to 97% of the Chevy Cruz sales.....According to Google Focus is the top searched vehicle in the C segment class.

PARTS PARTS PARTS that is the reason for 5 days of 8 hours.

Rainbow....Not too many people are aware when new people from another ford facility bring their seniority "with" them. This is what happend at Rawsonville when some AAI workers were brought in with their seniority. No one was laid off. They packed everyone in then re-shuffled the (seniority) deck. And yes we were all afraid of getting screwed. A friend of mine at the rouge said it just happened to them before Christmas, mysteriously a group of people came from Rawsonville with high seniority and the rouge group has less seniority. Your thoughts are closer to the truth if you ask me. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah right parts!!!! Splane this Lucy......We build roughly 1000 cars a day and last months sales were just under 15000 cars. So that's and extra 5000 cars amonth. And its been this way for months, so believe what you want but I highly doubt that its a parts issue. This car is built in 5 different country so parts I don't think so...

It worked out great in 2001 because there were plenty of places to go. Now it is a game of musical chairs.........when 3 crew ends at MAP (and it always ends) there will be no place left to go. As i said, there are 2 reasons for the 3 crew operations at MAP and they have NOTHING to do with with the need to increase production: 1.The company wants to eliminate all overtime.

2. The Union needs to find a home for excess workers.

Everything will be fine until the music stops and the party is over!

Don`t worry about a place to go, CAP is going to a "C crew"... any takers? how about some high seniority members? its only cold for 7 months a year.... and the best benefit to working in Chicago the !!!!!CUBS!!!!!

Time frame for starting the 3 crew well, maybe... in April or maybe??? Who knows? Sure, we are setting up for it. Got people bidding on jobs and handing out classifications like free popcorn at a kiddie circus... might not be many left for transferee`s, sorry.

Just wondering, how long does it take from getting the classification till the "I want to bump that SOB on days" syndrome take? MTP`ers?

Anyone know, how it works if the company goes to an Appendix H when on an Alternate Work Schedule like the 3 crew agreement?

How are other Plants dealing with all the experience and leadership flowing from all the new managers? We seem to be at a loss for experience....

I still can`t figure out where those 12000 jobs went, from the signing of the contract... to now? Was the 12000 job thing, a south-side shell game? (sarcasm)

Sorry about all the questions but now a days here at CAP, when you ask a question you get a lot of "UMMM I Think" or "The International set this S**T up!!!! Go Ask Them!!!

Oh Well, another great attempt at bringing the work force together.... everyone join hands Koombyaaah my friend, Koombyaaah......

The union has the power to force Ford Motor Company to add a shift and hire Entry Level at MAP even though they dont need the cars?

Now that $hit is funny, the UAW tells Ford to add a shift here and add a shift there when volume is not justified. hahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

Looks like you missed reason #1: THE COMPANY WANTS TO ELIMNATE ALL OVERTIME!

No more 5/10's and an eight on saturday, and certainly no more 7 days for the trades. Sounds like a pretty good money saver and incentive fo FoMoCo to me.

(Remember, trades will go to either a 4 crew or 5 crew mode when production goes to 3 crew operations)

For production, the schedule is as follows with 3 crew operations:

A crew: Mon-Thurs ------Days

B crew: Tues-Fri-----------Afternoons

C crew: Fri &Sat Days.........Sunday & Monday............Afternoons

For Trades at MTP we added D crew: Fri, Sat, Sun 3/12's....and E crew: Sat, Sun, Mon. 3/12's during the 3 crew years.....1995-2001. along with the traditional days/afternoons/midnite shifts. Eliminating overtime was not the issue at that time...but coverage was! Remember, production runs 7 days a week and is only down Sat nite/Sunday . All trades except for possibly hi-lo mechanic were offered 7 days a week anyway, regardless of what shift they worked. FoMoCo was making $10,000 per vehicle with the high profit Expedition/Navigator lineup. Today, the 2011 contract allows the company to twist trades into all kinds of goofy, f**ked up contortions to eliminate

overtime while still covering production. Get ready tradesmen at all locations going 3 crew....YOU ARE IN FOR A CULTURE SHOCK!!!

Map trades are going to a four crew. Built in overtime every week. Article 3 pgs 178A and 179A in the white pages.

Culture Shock is an under statement.

Monday ------- A crew & C crew

Tuesday ------ A crew & B crew

Wednesday - A crew & B crew

Thursday ---- A crew & B crew

Friday -------- B crew & C crew

Saturday ---- C crew & ?? Possibly B crew if needed?

Sunday ----- C crew & ?? Possibly A crew if needed?

For my CAP sisters and brothers, did anyone hear the term or statement " adding a Shift", you have? Well, I would bet it never was said by LRO or HR ....?

Take a look at the schedule, do you see one day in the schedule where there is the scheduling of "3" crews? No?

Look at the contract language:

1) No overtime Monday thru Friday unless 40 hours is reached.

2) Saturday is straight time for C crew. Time and a half for B crew, if 40 hours is reached.

3) Sunday is straight time for C crew. Time and a half for A crew, if 40 hours is reached.

4) A,B and C crews have to work all three RDO`s before they receive double time.

Once again, the play on words is very much at work here.

Who, still thinks Ford is in business to create employment? Did Ford ever state they were adding a shift? Did Ford ever clarify the "12000 jobs" statements? When asked if these "12000 jobs" were going to be NET employment, (new UAW members?) the response was "well, more like 8300, then it was stated it would be more like 5000?" per the V.P. As for the adding of a shift or the 12000 jobs nothing but the typical word games that lead the press and those walking the floor in the plants to help give the perception of just how good this all will be.

If not, 89 day`ers, TPT, STPT, LTS or Entry Level what next? S.T.E.C.?? (Short Term Employment Crew?)

Adding shifts.... "traditional"..... Move to the 3 crew agreement.... "AWS". Ever wonder how the schedule can flip flop, back and forth from 5X8`s to 4X10`s so dam easy? "A.W.S."

How hard is it to understand that everything Ford does or agrees to, is money based. Yet, we the membership just keeps hoping, believing and falling for the word games and keep saying "can they do that?"

But, really that singing you hear in the back ground, yep she`s singing.......its over, a done deal. Turn the lights out when your done 3rd crew.

With all the good feelings of Sisterhood and Brotherhood.... Let The Churning Begin.....

3- Crew get it !

Plants have been doing AWS schedules for 25 years or more to justify product commitments and job security.

Running a plant on 1 or 2 shifts equals less profit margin, less profit margin equals less job security and profit sharing, less profit margins make Ford Motor Company look to lower waged markets like Canada and Mexico.

You are lucky to have product and a plant that produces vehicle people want.

Educate yourself------ Diarrhea mouth, you should be thankful you are going on 3 shifts, unlike most locations that have to worry about survival

Crawl back under your rock and thank the Lord the UAW negotiated product to support you for years to come

You took what i said out of context. The overtime issue is one of the reasons final assembly locations like MAP are going to 3 crew operations. The 2nd reason is that the Union is trying to find a home for seniority. I believe the union made a deal with FoMoCo and accepted all the goofy, F**CKED UP AWS's to create openings. As I said before, 3 crew should be added to increase production.....the other reasons I stated should be an afterthought. Oh and yes , ofcourse i like overtime, but I don't rely on it!
