Lets see Canada the much more socialist country didn't have nearly the issue with Credit Default swaps because of more regulation not less. Iceland was economically strong but they got the free market bug and de-regulated and look what happened to them. Actually i do think the UAW is in it for us. Certainly a helluva lot more than they wealth gatherer Republicans and the pro-business right to workers. You would see the destruction of all the middle class. We agree, but then again we should have the same right to vote for the U.S. President that way also. Those were't record profits but they were profits. The unions isn't always right. It has a better percentage than you do in being correct though. Just look at this thread. One thing I will agree with you on...voting for our uaw elected and popular vote in elections. Where we disagree is it would appear that you come from the mind that we have a "duty" to the UAW ie we work for them. I have the mind that the UAW has a "Duty" to me, ie, they work for me!.
