Average Build Time

Recommended Posts

Just picked up mine on 2-19-11. Ordered on 12-20-10, was scheduled for production on 2-11-11. Was shipped on 2-14-11. Arrived at the dealership in Sterling Heights MI on 2-16-11.

I got a 2011 f-250 crew cab, 6.2 gas, 4x4 short bed. Hope this helps, also mine was built in Kentucky.

i heard that ford is cutting back drastically on what they are painting black and red because of how the chemical that gives it the sparkle was made solely in a factory that was destroyed in northern japan. but it sounded like all other colors arent going to be affected as of right now.

Just curious if anyone knows the average build time of a F250 Super-Duty. Just the time spent in production in the factory not counting delivery time. Thanks

New to this board and nice to see the guys who build our trucks chime in to give us info. Tue.4/19/11 my F-350 6.2 4.30 diff. Lariat crew cab short bed 4x4 Vermillion red was ordered. Salesman said about 3 weeks to get the vin. I'm swapping my 2008 6.4 diesel for the gasser.

I was told that build takes about 10 hours BUT then shipping can take awhile (assuming no weather issues which can cause majior delays). My F350 SD is supposed to be built 5/5. Once its done (I do not have window sticker yet so date is not confirmed) VIN 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839.

Once built then have to wait for shipping that heading to your dealership area. Bigger the dealership sooner item would get shipped

IF I thorugh my wife would not change the locks on the house I would fly out to kentucky and drive the truck back my self :)

I have owned 5 ford trucks but this will be first time I got everthing I wanted insted of picking what dealership had to offer

Build time is closer to 24 hours, not 10. Your window sticker should be up today or tomorrow if it is being built on 5/5. Make sure it is not the week of 5/5. From what I've seen, Ford schedules it to the week until it gets close and then schedules the weeks worth of trucks to the day. So most dates are given the week at first and then the day as it approaches. Whenever they give it the week, they state it for that Monday. My guess is since your window sticker isn't available yet, it's the week of 5/5.

Trucks will ship once they have a full truck worth to bring to the area.

:happy feet:

My dealer placed my order on 6-18 for my new F-350 King Ranch Powerstroke 4X4 and the build date is supposed to be today 7-23! I received my vin # about three weeks ago and received my window sticker last week. So that is about a month. Dealer said that he may have the truck by the end of next week. I am getting excited, want to start adding my extras, Leer top, bed rug, chrome door and tail gate handles, rear sway bar, X-Pel paint protection, WeatherTech floor liners, painted mud guards, chrome hood guard, just to get started.

:spend:
