The 79-93 Mustang wasn't heritage, retro or inspired by the past. It was boring! Maybe try and update a Probe?
94ranger
I feel that is so retro that its not... i'll take it.
Chester
Artandcolour had one on one of his posts where he removed the fastback for a traditional rear window setup. It looked awesome.
rmc523
Hmmm, don't know if what I've draw counts as 'not retro,' since it's similar to today's model, but here ya go (complete with step-by-step pictures of how the sequential turn signal works: These were just quick doodles during class one day, so they're crude and the design isn't thought out extremely well, but you get the idea. The turn signal uses the 3 outer 'rings' sequentially and the 3 vertical bars within those 'rings' are the brake lights, while the horizontal bar across the brake lights is the reverse light. (The taillights are the one part of the design I focused on LOL). Edited August 29, 2010 by rmc523
94ranger
Its really good and I do love those sequential tail lights.
rmc523
Well thank you......is it not still too retro for you though?
94ranger
I think it is but I it good. Its not that i don't like the retro... its just i wondered what a new non retro might look like and i can't make it look right.

Chester
This is the chop artandcolour did (hopefully he doesn't mind me posting this here). It's perhaps my favorite Mustang chop. It's retro, but isn't the fastback style that's been out fof some time now. I love it: Edited September 1, 2010 by Chester

timmm55
That would be mine ;-) Here's one I just did......Iosis based obviously, certainly more modern, Edited September 4, 2010 by timmm55
rmc523
I like it Tim, looks a tad bloated on the sides for my liking, but that's likely because it's based on Iosis as you said.
94ranger
That would be mine ;-) Here's one I just did......Iosis based obviously, certainly more modern, Very good... it definitely looks modern and there isn't anything retro about. Looks a bit like a Bentley Continental GT. Maybe Mustangs just look better in retro.
6t5frlane
The 79-93 Mustang wasn't heritage, retro or inspired by the past. It was boring! Maybe try and update a Probe? Boring ?? All you had to do was drive a 5.0 or one that was modified and you know those cars were NOT boring. Put Ford back on the high performance map for decades

94ranger
Don't be defensive. I had a new 1982 5.0 Capri, and a new 1990 Mustang 5.0 LX convertible...both manuals. The Styling was boring. I agree about the styling. Most cars out of the 80's were boring in terms of styling, but it did provide us with cars like the GNX, and 5.0 Mustangs. Yup thats makes perfect sense
timmm55
So you owned one " Boring " car and then hated the styling so much you bought another " Boring " car ???? Yup thats makes perfect sense [/quote They were nice cars, a great bang for the buck. I said (FOR THE LAST TIME!) the STYLING was boring. It was typical of the era. Do you not understand that someone could like and enjoy a car without being totally gaga over it's styling? Back then it was as good as it got. It was pre-heritage, other than a horse emblem here and there, it could have been "any car".
