I'm not gonna waste time googling it, but in 1970...1969 maybe? Richard Petty put a dimpled roof on his charger. Everybody thought the black roof was a landau top and laughed until he qualified #1!
Unfortunately, half way through the race the top peeled off..and he subsequently slowed down. Yes it was investigated and yes it was then banned.

At 60mph would it work? In theory I suppose.
