Your UAW leadership has allowed Ford to reap all the benefits that GM and Chrysler have attained through bankruptcy without Ford Motor Company actually having to file, or suffer the repercussions on managements side in wage reduction and benefit cuts. Alan Mullaly made it clear in front of congress when asked to make concessions such as ones we are asked for, “NO THANKS, I AM FINE WHERE I AM AT.” So why is it twice in one year our contract is being re-negotiated to give back more when the other side is giving nothing Ron?
UAW leadership claims we need to ratify this to get product commitments such as product going to Sterling Heights. If you read the 2007 CBA pages 7U through 12U, these are the same commitments that still haven’t been lived up to, wrapped in a different package and delivered to us again thinking we are stupid enough to buy this. We are educated UAW employees now Ron.
Ask yourself why would the #1 thing Alan asks for being the “no strike clause” over wages? We have not struck over wages since 1976. They fail to inform you that the rules for arbitration have been re-negotiated and we will have what’s called “baseball arbitration” ask Ron and company to explain this and you will then understand the set up for the “no strike clause” In 2011 we will be screwed royally.
Ask yourself why would the UAW agree to extend these concessions until 2015 when we will be negotiating a new contract in 2011?? 8 months ago we were told “no more concessions, and we will live to fight another day”..you lied Bob.
Ask yourself why 8 months ago we went from 20% hiring of 2 tier wage to now they want to give Ford unlimited hiring…once again, until 2015. WHY?
Bottom line, Mullaly busted the Union at Boeing and he is succeeding in doing the same with the UAW unless we stand up as a Union and say NO MORE!! We have given our bonuses, cost of living, holiday eliminated,1 minute break out of each hour, tuition plan etc.. only for our leadership to come back again and ask for more, while Ford continues to show profit for another quarter. I don’t know if you find this insulting but I sure do. I refuse to give back everything our forefathers fought and died for in the last 70 years so that they can keep everyone comfortable on International staff and allow Ford to continue to build in Mexico, India and China all the while we are the ones giving concessions!! Remember the faces of the ones trying to push this on us and VOTE NO!!! SOLIDARITY SOLIDARITY SOLIDARITY!!!
