Hey everyone! I have a quick question for the experts here, I am looking to trade in my 00 BMW X5 for the 05 NAVIGATOR.. What should I be looking for in this particular year? Any recalls I should be aware of before I buy? Are there any trouble spots that need attention? What to look for when driving this particular model? Any insight would be great! Thanks

Be prepared to spend big bucks on the air suspension. It fails regularly and can be expensive. They're great vehicles other than that, but just be aware of that known problem.

I am not sold on my 04. Fuel economy sucks, you really have to drive it easy or you go through brakes like motor oil, and, well it has reliability which as of late seems to be hit and miss (Luckily, most were under warranty). I am getting paint fade on my air vents, the road noise seems to be getting worse, the hood struts went out, the driver interior door handle broke, and now a possible fuel pump needs to be replaced. All this and more with less than 80k miles.

I had an explorer that was bullet proof despite all the roll over paranoia, so I am not anti Ford. Just expected more for 50 K.

I also have a BMW 528 and that thing is rock solid at 100K, it jsut costs a fortune to fix things if you have to go to BMW.

I keep wishing I had gotten the land cruiser. Never needed to tow or use all this space.
