2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer

Recommended Posts

It is a 2007 Buick Lacrosse CX. My old company car. The new company gave me an allowance rather than a company car, thus the Eddie Bauer. I am in my overlap week, so still have both until Wed.

For what it is worth, the Buick was a very nice car. Very quiet and smooth. 26mpg overall.

Ok, I see it now. I wasn't even close, except for the 4-doors part, LOL.

Congratulations !!! ... I have the same model but in Black, we changed our old Eddie Bauer 2002 by the new one. It is absolutely better in many aspects and features, but my wife still miss the Reverse Sensor System of the EB 02 :hysterical:

How come you didn't get the Reverse Sensor System on your 07?

You can probably get an aftermarket system as well.

Well, to live outside the USA has some disadvantages. One of them is that you do not have the choice of configure the car you want. So you do not have more option than to buy the model that Ford sells in your country (EB without reverse sensor system). As Mike Jagger said ... sad, sad, sad.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't get the exact vehicle you want. Maybe you can get an aftermarket system as I said above? I know I love having our reverse sensing system, it definetely helps when parking, backing up, etc. (especially in an Expedition).

Yeap, good point, even it can be a good gift for my wife. Any idea where can I get an aftermarket system?

Thanks in advance.

Internet? That'd be my best guess.

Google it, a bunch of stuff comes up, here's an example:

http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/car-au...ess/m/22019788/

Thanks a lot, searching in the Audivox 's web site I found this another option to be installed in the hitch:

http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...8&langId=-1

I think that I going to take this option, anyway if you are using the hitch towing a trailer, the Reverse Sensing System is not useful.

Thanks again.

You're quite welcome. I hope it works well for you, good luck! Let us know when you get it and how it works.

My 1 month update. I will get mileage and mpg tomorrow. Right now, I'll just go over good and bad.

good

1. ) love the looks/color

2.) love the rims

3.) love the seats, 10 way power, very comfortable.

4.) very quiet compared to 2003 XLS

5.) really good ride, smooth and not just for an suv

6.) like the over all control layout and appearance. chrome trim i like, like the gear shift. radio is nice.

bad

1.) turn signal switch is too high

2.) i don't like the location of the gas gauge and temp gauge.

3.) I wish it had all 4 smaller gauges like the F150

overall on a scale of 1-10, 10 being perfect. I give it a 9.

I don't like the new 45-degree angle the turn signal stalks are being placed at either. I like how the 03-06 Expedition has it, at a little less than 90 degree angle.

I've had my 2006 Ford Explorer EB for 2 years now and we LOVE it. the only disadvantage that my wife hates is the gas mileage. I keep telling her that it's a truck but he dosen't listen. lol It's definitly the greatest midsze truck out there right now and i would be devastated if they changed America's original SUV into a CUV. It would be a shame

4 month update

total miles = 6809

total gallons = 374.03

mpg = 18.20

mpg overall has dropped off, as I have been just driving to and from the office. While it was going up previously, I usually had a least 125 miles on a tank that was all highway. My to and from work is 13 miles each way going about 35 - 45 mph with slight traffic and 3 stop lights.

I have a vibration under the dash on the passenger side while at a stop. Once I start moving it goes away, and if I shift to park while stopped it goes away. I need to crawl under and see if it something I can tighten up.

No other problems.

I know I still enjoy mine (just turned 45k),

but after driving (i know the pricing of the vehicles is not the same) but the BMW X5 Diesel... WOW... that has some serious torque and MPG to match...

Can buy lots of fuel an lots of performance for the price difference in the two autos.... :-). Only have about 12K miles on my '08 ST, but it is very sweet. The 3V V8 is a very nice motor, truck tows well, drives well and I have averaged 18.8 mpg in my normal driving so far. I am very pleased.
